Sardenya

2015.

Rehabilitation of housing in the Eixample neighborhood of Barcelona.

The project recovers the original envelope of the house, exposing its slab of ceramic vaults and wooden beams. The materials and shades we have used are very natural in appearance: unstained wood for the flooring in the living room and bedrooms, hydraulic flooring with a geometric pattern for the kitchen and bathrooms, and matt varnished ceramic textures on the structural wall and vaults. Some of the existing walls have been recovered and  left uncoated to enhance the textures of the ceramic. Formerly they used to be plastered but nowadays they have special relevance for their constructive craftsmanship. The rest of the tonalities of the floor have been treated in a range of whites, ocher and grays.

Project carried out in the partner stage of Nook Architects.
